Seasonal Skin Care and Treatments

Experts classify weather changes and how they affect the skin into four main categories and they are cold dry weather, moist cold weather, hot dry weather and moist hot weather. For every category there are the necessary seasonal skin care products which we collected for you and they are as follows:

Cold Weather

When the weather gets less moist and when there is strong wind and the temperature is getting too much colder than usual. When all these three factors combined together and come excessively close to the skin especially when your home is so warm then the dryness of the skin is going to suffer and is so difficult. This is because the upper layer of the skin in such weather becomes worn out and this is the layer which is responsible for holding the moisture into your skin. This makes the skin of the face and the body peel, crack, get irritated and maybe even become inflamed.

Treatment

Those who have an oily, normal or mixed skin should use skin care products that contain moisturizing agents like glycerin and alpha hydroxyl acids to collect more water from the air onto the skin.

But if the skin is too dry then you should use strong moisturizers like “petrolatum” which is present in Vaseline which keeps the moisture inside the skin. Or you can use laxative oils like palm oil which helps the skin restore the moisturizing membrane that protects it against dryness.

If you do not like the oily look then search for oil-free products.

Dermatologists advise you to clean up the dead cells from your skin every day using a gentle enzymatic exfoliant or by using a moisturizing cleanser if the skin is too sensitive. This is because cold weather makes blood vessels contract which makes the renewal of old skin cells slower. One of the best ways to clean your skin is by visiting beauty salons, using neroli oil and messaging your skin; this helps make skin renewal faster and protects against tissue reddening.

Dry Cold Weather

In coastal areas, strong winds buffet the skin and this causes it to crack and redden. Dermatologists warn you that in these places the skin tends to turn grayish because the wind causes the upper layer of the skin to dry and blocks the oil in the lower layer which causes pores blockage and acne.

Treatment

To overcome the bad effects of cold dry weather use the products that contain “retinol” to make skin cells renewal faster.

You should also wear silk scarves instead of woolen ones because they cause your skin to be more sensitive. Silk gives you a warm feeling just like wool but it is more gentle for the skin.

It is also recommended that you use exfoliating products that contain ceramides and elonolic acid; these help protect the skin with a layer that protects against the weather conditions.

Don’t forget to use gentle masks that contain smoothing elements for the skin

Like avocado oil, green tea, calendula flowers to combat inflammation marks. Specialists advise you to use moisturizing balms and creams for the lips and the areas around your eyes plus a sun protection lotion for sensitive skin.

Moist Hot Weather

The best trick to use with skin in moist weather is to adjust your caring style according to the temperature and moisture. Skins that use retinoid in summer when the weather is moist may want to combine retinoid and moisturizers in winter to overcome skin dryness.

Treatment

Experts stress on the importance of working on making your skin stronger in moist weathers; most cleansers are basic which causes an imbalance in the acidity level of the skin i.e. makes the moisture leave your skin. You can use an alcohol-free toner in the morning to restore the normal pH level of your skin.

You can also rub a little chamomile solution on your skin every now and then during the morning.

One of the best exfoliating treatments in beauty salons is by using some Moroccan herbs and aloe extracts

                                                                    (Aloe extracts)

They have an exfoliating effect equivalent to glycolic of 30% concentration. You massage your scalp or feet to waste time while you are in an exfoliating session which lasts just for 15 minutes .

Hot dry Weather

In desert weather the temperature is so high and the surrounding air is usually hot. Then you should take good care of your skin when it comes to cleaning and moisturizing.

Treatment

Doctors emphasize the importance of moisturizing your skin using products that contain moisturizers like hydroponic acid which repairs the protective layer of the skin.

Avoid using petrolatum and similar moisturizers which may block the pores and cause acne.

Take care also to protect your skin from the two types of ultraviolet radiation on a daily basis, even when you are at home. Most of us don’t know that ultraviolet radiation can penetrate through our window glasses.

Creams and serum rich in antioxidants help protect the skin against sun radiation which damages skin tissue.

You also have to moisturize your body from the inside. Hot weather and lack of moisture cause the body and skin to dry. Drink lots of water, have lots of fatty acids and fish oil to fight wrinkles. Doctors stress the importance of cleaning your skin with blueberry and beech tree extract.
